Francis Cahill
Migration law has been an important part of Francis' legal practice for many years. In particular, his practice has assisted many in the Chinese community to migrate to Australia under different categories of immigration visas and has also offered assistance to these people in obtaining and securing permanent residence in Australia. Academic Appointment Since March 2002, Francis has been retained by both RMIT University and the Australian Institute of Public Safety as a Sessional Lecturer in the Criminal Justice programs teaching undergraduate students in Criminal Law and Risk Management. Community Service Appointments Francis possesses a strong sense of public duty and this is demonstrated in his appointments as both a Bail Justice and a Justice of the Peace in the State of Victoria. He has been recognised for his efforts in his service to the community when he was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of voluntary service to the community in 2001 by Victoria's Attorney General and the Premier of Victoria.
